Stainless Steel Constant Torque Clamp 5/8" Band, Hose I.D. - 8", Hose O.D. - 8.25” to 9.125”
Virtually all rubber hose compresses (cold flow) after installation of clamping device, resulting in an almost immediate torque loss that can exceed 80% of installation torque. Similarly, virtually all metal connections expand as a system heats up, and then contracts as the system cools. Conventional worm gear, T-bolt, and other clamps are passive, in that expansion or contraction of components cannot be compensated for with out re-tightening or loosening the clamps. This clamping system is an “active” clamping mechanism, which monitors and then compensates for the changes by actually changing diameter through a unique worm gear Belleville assembly.

The Trident Marine Stainless Steel Constant Torque Clamp, part number 730-8000, is designed for securing hoses in systems where thermal expansion, contraction, or material compression (cold flow) can lead to torque loss. This active clamping mechanism is suitable for IT environments and industrial applications that utilize fluid or air transfer systems with specific hose dimensions. It addresses the common issue of conventional clamps becoming loose due to changes in hose material or system temperature, which can result in leaks or disconnections. The clamp's unique worm gear Belleville assembly actively adjusts its diameter to maintain consistent pressure, eliminating the need for manual re-tightening. Constructed from 304 and 401 stainless steel, it offers durability for demanding operational conditions. This clamp is specified for hoses with an 8-inch inner diameter and an outer diameter ranging from 8.25 to 9.125 inches, making it appropriate for maintaining system integrity in critical infrastructure.
This clamp is designed for hoses with an 8-inch inner diameter (I.D.) and an outer diameter (O.D.) ranging from 8.25 inches to 9.125 inches.
The band and housing are made from 304 stainless steel with a 5/8-inch wide band. The Belleville spring washers and screw are constructed from 401 stainless steel.
Unlike passive conventional clamps, this system is an active clamping mechanism. It monitors and compensates for changes in hose diameter due to cold flow or thermal expansion/contraction by actively adjusting its diameter through a unique worm gear Belleville assembly.
For larger I.D. sizes above 730-3000, which includes this clamp, the recommended maximum torque is between 50 to 120 in.-lbs.
