Stainless Steel Constant Torque Clamp 5/8" Band, Hose I.D. - 1-7/8" to 2-1/2", Hose O.D. 2.25" to 3.125"
Virtually all rubber hose compresses (cold flow) after installation of clamping device, resulting in an almost immediate torque loss that can exceed 80% of installation torque. Similarly, virtually all metal connections expand as a system heats up, and then contracts as the system cools. Conventional worm gear, T-bolt, and other clamps are passive, in that expansion or contraction of components cannot be compensated for with out re-tightening or loosening the clamps. This clamping system is an “active” clamping mechanism, which monitors and then compensates for the changes by actually changing diameter through a unique worm gear Belleville assembly.

The Trident Marine Stainless Steel Constant Torque Clamp, part number 730-2000, is designed for maintaining consistent clamping force on hose connections. This component is suitable for IT environments or facilities where reliable hose connections are critical and subject to temperature fluctuations or material compression over time. It addresses the common issue of torque loss in conventional clamping systems, which occurs as rubber hoses compress post-installation or as metal connections expand and contract due to temperature changes.
This clamp features an active clamping mechanism that utilizes a worm gear Belleville assembly. This design allows the clamp to automatically adjust its diameter to compensate for changes in hose or connection dimensions, thereby preventing leaks or disconnections without manual retightening. It is constructed from 304 stainless steel for the band and housing, with 401 stainless steel used for the Belleville spring washers and screw, ensuring durability in demanding applications. This clamp is intended for hoses with an inner diameter from 1-7/8" to 2-1/2" and an outer diameter from 2.25" to 3.125".
This clamp is designed for hoses with an inner diameter (I.D.) ranging from 1-7/8" to 2-1/2" and an outer diameter (O.D.) ranging from 2.25" to 3.125".
The band and housing are constructed from 304 stainless steel with a 5/8" wide band. The Belleville spring washers and screw are made from 401 stainless steel.
The clamp employs an active clamping mechanism with a unique worm gear Belleville assembly. This system monitors and compensates for changes in hose or connection diameter caused by material compression (cold flow) or thermal expansion/contraction, maintaining consistent clamping force.
For smaller ID sizes up to part number 730-3000, the recommended maximum torque is 30 to 70 in.-lbs. For larger ID sizes above 730-3000, it is 50 to 120 in.-lbs.
