Stainless Steel Constant Torque Clamp 5/8" Band, Hose I.D. - 6", Hose O.D. - 6.25" to 7.125"
Virtually all rubber hose compresses (cold flow) after installation of clamping device, resulting in an almost immediate torque loss that can exceed 80% of installation torque. Similarly, virtually all metal connections expand as a system heats up, and then contracts as the system cools. Conventional worm gear, T-bolt, and other clamps are passive, in that expansion or contraction of components cannot be compensated for with out re-tightening or loosening the clamps. This clamping system is an “active” clamping mechanism, which monitors and then compensates for the changes by actually changing diameter through a unique worm gear Belleville assembly.

The Trident Marine Stainless Steel Constant Torque Clamp (part number 730-6000) is designed for IT environments requiring secure hose and cable management where thermal cycling or material compression is a factor. This active clamping mechanism addresses the common issue of torque loss in conventional clamps, which occurs due to rubber hose compression (cold flow) or thermal expansion and contraction of metal connections. Unlike passive clamps that require manual re-tightening, this system utilizes a unique worm gear Belleville assembly to automatically adjust its diameter, compensating for changes in hose or connection dimensions. It is suitable for applications involving 6-inch inner diameter hoses and outer diameters ranging from 6.25 to 7.125 inches. Constructed from 304 stainless steel for the band and housing, with 401 stainless steel Belleville spring washers and screw, it offers a robust solution for maintaining consistent clamping force over time, reducing the need for maintenance in critical systems.
This clamp is designed for hoses with a 6-inch inner diameter and an outer diameter ranging from 6.25 inches to 7.125 inches.
Standard clamps can lose torque due to rubber hose compression (cold flow) or thermal expansion/contraction of connections. This constant torque clamp actively compensates for these changes, maintaining consistent clamping force without manual adjustment.
The band and housing are made from 304 stainless steel with a 5/8-inch wide band. The Belleville spring washers and screw are constructed from 401 stainless steel.
For larger ID sizes, which this clamp falls under, the recommended maximum torque is between 50 to 120 inch-pounds.
