Stainless Steel Constant Torque Clamp 5/8" Band, Hose I.D. - 4-1/8" to 4-1/2", Hose O.D. - 4.75" to 5.625"
Virtually all rubber hose compresses (cold flow) after installation of clamping device, resulting in an almost immediate torque loss that can exceed 80% of installation torque. Similarly, virtually all metal connections expand as a system heats up, and then contracts as the system cools. Conventional worm gear, T-bolt, and other clamps are passive, in that expansion or contraction of components cannot be compensated for with out re-tightening or loosening the clamps. This clamping system is an “active” clamping mechanism, which monitors and then compensates for the changes by actually changing diameter through a unique worm gear Belleville assembly.

The Trident Marine Stainless Steel Constant Torque Clamp, part number 730-4120, is designed for securing hoses in applications where thermal expansion/contraction or hose compression (cold flow) can lead to torque loss. This active clamping mechanism addresses the common issue of conventional clamps becoming loose over time due to component changes. It utilizes a unique worm gear Belleville assembly to automatically adjust its diameter, maintaining consistent clamping force without manual re-tightening. This clamp is suitable for hoses with an inner diameter ranging from 4-1/8" to 4-1/2" and an outer diameter from 4.75" to 5.625". Constructed from 304 stainless steel for the band and housing, and 401 stainless steel for the Belleville spring washers and screw, it offers durability for demanding environments. It is intended for IT and industrial buyers requiring reliable hose connections that resist loosening in fluctuating conditions.
This clamp is designed for hoses with an inner diameter (I.D.) from 4-1/8" to 4-1/2" and an outer diameter (O.D.) from 4.75" to 5.625".
The band and housing are constructed from 304 Stainless Steel with a 5/8" wide band. The Belleville Spring Washers and screw are made from 401 Stainless Steel.
This clamp is an active clamping mechanism. It monitors and compensates for changes in hose diameter due to cold flow or thermal expansion/contraction by automatically adjusting its diameter via a unique worm gear Belleville assembly.
For larger I.D. sizes, which this clamp falls under, the recommended maximum torque is between 50 to 120 in.-lbs.
