Reed Switch Fuel Sender - 450 MM
Most aftermarket fuel senders use a rotating float arm and resistance cards to measure the amount of fuel in a tank which can lead to erratic pointer movements. This revolutionary design comes with many benefits! This is ideal for applications where a conventional swing arm will not fit due to clearance issues. The tubular design acts as a dampener to prevent the gauge pointer from moving due to fuel slosh.
The floatless fuel sender has no side to side motion, which means it has no moving parts to wear out. It is top mounted and utilizes the aftermarket standard SAE 5 hole mounting flange and comes complete with neoprene gasket and mounting hardware.

The VDO Reed Switch Fuel Sender (part number 226-645) is a fuel level measurement device designed for applications where traditional swing-arm senders are impractical. This unit utilizes a tubular, floatless design, which helps mitigate erratic gauge pointer movements often associated with fuel slosh in tanks. Its construction, featuring stainless steel and an ethanol-resistant Viton gasket, contributes to durability. The sender is suitable for tanks with a depth of 17.7 inches (450mm) and operates within a 240-33 Ohm range, making it compatible with most standard marine fuel gauges. Installation is top-mounted via an SAE 5-hole mounting flange, and the product includes a neoprene gasket and mounting hardware. This design is beneficial for systems requiring a robust, low-maintenance fuel level sensing solution without moving parts susceptible to wear, and where space constraints prevent the use of conventional float-arm senders.
This fuel sender is designed for use with tanks that have a depth of 17.7 inches (450mm).
The sender comes complete with a neoprene gasket and mounting hardware for installation.
It works with most standard marine fuel gauges and operates within a 240-33 Ohm range.
The tubular, floatless design acts as a dampener to prevent gauge pointer movement due to fuel slosh. It also has no side-to-side motion, meaning it has no moving parts to wear out, and is suitable for applications where a conventional swing arm will not fit due to clearance issues.
