The APC Smart-UPS SMX 1500VA Tower/Rack Convertible UPS, part number SMX1500RM2UC, is a line-interactive uninterruptible power supply designed for business and IT environments. It provides power protection and backup for critical equipment such as servers, network devices, communication systems, and security systems. This UPS features a 1440 VA/1350 W load capacity and operates on a 120 V AC input, delivering a sine wave output. With a full load backup time of 5 minutes and a half load backup time of 14.80 minutes, it helps maintain operations during power fluctuations or outages. The unit includes Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) to correct minor power issues without switching to battery. Its convertible form factor allows for flexible deployment as a tower or rack-mountable unit, compatible with NetShelter SX, SV, CX2, and WX series racks. Connectivity options include SmartConnect, serial, network (RJ-45), and USB ports, facilitating remote monitoring and management.

The package includes the Smart-UPS SMX 1500VA Tower/Rack Convertible UPS, a Cat 5 Ethernet cable, an installation guide, rack mounting hardware, rack mounting support rails, removable support feet, a Smart UPS signaling RS-232 cable, and a USB cable.
The UPS accepts an input voltage range of 82 V AC to 144 V AC and provides a nominal output voltage of 120 V AC. It uses a NEMA 5-15P plug and has 8 NEMA 5-15R receptacles.
