The Icy Dock MB994SP-4S is a drive bay adapter designed for integrating multiple 2.5-inch SAS or SATA I/II/III HDDs or SSDs into a single 5.25-inch bay. This unit is constructed from heavy-duty metal (SECC) for durability in demanding IT environments. It provides four hot-swap slots, allowing for easy drive insertion and extraction via 15-pin direct hard drive connections. The adapter supports transfer rates up to 6 Gb/sec, dependent on the installed drives. Cooling is managed by ventilation slots on the front and back, complemented by two 40mm rear cooling fans and metal heat dispersion, ensuring operational stability for the drives. LED indicators display device power (green) and drive activity (amber). This solution is suitable for businesses and IT professionals requiring compact, high-density storage within existing server or workstation chassis, particularly for RAID configurations or scenarios where multiple 2.5-inch drives need to be consolidated and easily accessible.
