While it is certainly true that we sell by far more yellow 2” safety barrier chain than any other size or color, we offer eight sizes of our standard chain in 20 standard colors and gothic style chain, too. The reason is simple - Mr. Chain is “America’s Plastic Chain Company”. We were the first Company in the United States to figure out how to make continuous chain from plastic, and we’ve been making it since 1969. We want our customers and distributors to know that we will make any chain they need or want to fulfill a particular purpose.

We don’t always know how or where our chain is used, but we want to know. What we have learned is that, almost always, our chain is used for a purpose related to safety or crowd control. We have real people answer phone calls and emails in “real time” so we can answer customer questions to make sure that they are getting exactly what they need for a particular application.

We are always working on ways to improve, not only by offering more complementary products, but also by offering more choices to our customers. That is why we also offer custom colors for larger orders that are made to match any sample provided by the customer. These orders will take a little longer to produce.

As an example, we make a gothic style chain in yellow because it fits one distributor’s TriVu Safety Cones. We also make 3/8” red plastic chain for one plumbing distributor’s toilet kit. We do this, not because these are high volume or highly profitable, but because we want our customers to know that our core business is plastic chain. We want to be the “go to” place for all things related to plastic chain, and we know we are the experts when it comes to plastic chain, not only how to make it, but its uses and applications in all the markets we serve.

We also understand the safety world, and we know that yellow not only means “Caution” in the world of safety, it is also one of the most visible colors to the human eye. Similarly, our safety green color is not only extremely visible but exactly matches the safety vests that many construction workers wear. Along the same lines, we know red and white are for danger or fire safety; yellow and magenta are used in nuclear plants, etc.

Several years ago, when the City of Minneapolis was designing their light rail system, they wanted a visual barrier along the tracks that was stronger than 700 pounds, highly visible, weather resistant, and did not conduct electricity. After more than a year of research and testing by their engineers, the answer was our 4” chain. Since then, other cities have used it for the same purpose.

Even though our core business is plastic safety barrier chain, all of our other products have been created to make it easier to use our chain to meet a particular need. That is why we offer stanchions in four sizes and why we have accessories like master links, connecting links, S hooks, etc., to fit every size and color of the plastic chain we make. We invented the magnet ring and carabiner to use with our plastic safety chain on loading docks as a visual barrier to protect people from falling, or to close aisles in distribution centers. We invented the cone chain connector to connect traffic cones with plastic safety barrier chain; the Connect-ALL to connect bollards with plastic safety chain; and the delineator hook to connect delineators with plastic chain.

Other than custom colors, our standard products are in stock and available to ship within 48 hours. For larger orders, we work within customer requirements to ship on time.
