Digital Yacht SPL1500 AIS-VHF Antenna Splitter
Model: ZDIGSPL1500An AIS receiver or transponder requires a VHF antenna, but Digital Yacht's new SPL1500 AIS-VHF antenna splitter allows an existing antenna to be used for both the AIS and VHF (DSC). Unlike most simple splitters, it can also be used with a class B transponder system and it incorporates special circuitry to ensure safe operation of the two transmitting devices.
The unit has three simple connections - one input for the main VHF antenna and then outputs for the AIS receiver/transponder and another for the DSC VHF. It utilises Digital Yacht's new, patented, ZeroLossTM technology, to ensure the very best possible reception and transmission from all devices. Most importantly it is also fail safe, so should the unit ever stop working or lose power, it will not affect the main VHF operation. Until now, Digital Yacht, have recommended a dedicated antenna for a receiver or transponder. However, with the new this new ZeroLoss TM technology, we can now offer a solution that greatly simplifies installation whilst maintaining performance.
The unit is waterproof and matches the aesthetics of the current AIT1500, so can easily be integrated into any vessel. It is suitable for operation on 12V or 24V systems and features three status LEDs that show the unit is powered correctly and when the AIS or VHF transmits.
The Digital Yacht SPL1500 is a VHF-AIS antenna splitter designed for marine IT and electronics installations. This device allows a single existing VHF antenna to serve both a standard VHF radio and an AIS (Automatic Identification System) receiver or Class B transponder. It addresses the challenge of integrating AIS systems without requiring an additional dedicated antenna, thereby reducing antenna clutter and simplifying installation processes. The SPL1500 utilizes patented ZeroLoss technology to maintain signal integrity for both transmission and reception across connected devices. It features a fail-safe operation, ensuring that the primary VHF communication remains unaffected even if the splitter loses power or malfunctions. Suitable for 12V or 24V systems, the unit is supplied with necessary cables for integration. The part number for this model is ZDIGSPL1500. This splitter is intended for IT professionals and marine technicians seeking to streamline vessel electronics and optimize antenna usage.

Features:
The SPL1500 is compatible with all Class B transponders and AIS receivers. It is designed to work with both transmitting and receiving AIS devices.
The unit comes with a power cable, a PL259-PL259 cable assembly, and a BNC-BNC cable assembly. All supplied cables are 0.75m long to facilitate installation.
Fail-safe operation means that if the SPL1500 unit stops working or loses power, it will not interrupt the main VHF radio's operation. This ensures critical VHF communication remains functional.
The SPL1500 operates on either 12V or 24V power systems. It is designed for low power consumption.
