  • Great deep water performance
  • High performance, low-profile thru-hull housing provides good resolution at speed when installed properly
  • Stainless steel housing for use on stepped, planing or displacement hulls in fiberglass, wood or metal
  • Recommended boat size: Up to 11 m (36')
  • Also available in a bronze housing (B175L) model for use in fiberglass and wood hulls
  • Exclusive Xducer ID® technology

Airmar’s low profile Chirp-ready transducer models are the perfect addition to smaller boats such as center consoles. The low frequency band is the deep water performer delivering excellent coverage and tracking in deeper depths. The SS175L transducer delivers up to 20 kHz of total bandwidth in just one installation and delivers tremendous deep water performance.

Tilted element transducers have the ceramic element fixed at either a 20°, 12° or 0° angle within the transducer housing. The transducer is installed almost flush to the hull and the tilted element corrects for the hull deadrise by orienting the beam directly down. This assures maximum echo returns to the transducer and more accurate depth readings.

Expert Overview

The Airmar SS175C-0-L 0d Tilt Low CHIRP transducer, part number SS175C-0-L-12G, is designed for marine applications requiring depth and water temperature sensing. This 1 kW transducer operates on a low-frequency CHIRP band from 40 kHz to 60 kHz, providing depth performance up to 762 meters (2500 feet). It features a 0-degree tilted element within a stainless steel thru-hull housing, suitable for fiberglass, wood, or metal hulls with a deadrise between 0 and 7 degrees. The design allows for flush installation, correcting for hull deadrise to ensure accurate depth readings. This model includes a Garmin 12-pin connector for direct integration with compatible systems. It is recommended for boats up to 11 meters (36 feet) and is particularly suited for smaller vessels like center consoles that require reliable deep-water performance and tracking. The SS175C-0-L-12G addresses the need for precise underwater data collection in challenging deep-water environments.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the recommended hull material and deadrise for this transducer?

The SS175C-0-L-12G features a stainless steel housing, making it suitable for installation on fiberglass, wood, or metal hulls. It is designed for hulls with a deadrise between 0 and 7 degrees.

What is the maximum depth performance of this transducer?

This transducer operates on a low-frequency band (40 kHz to 60 kHz) and provides maximum depth performance up to 762 meters (2500 feet).

What type of connector does this transducer use?

The Airmar SS175C-0-L-12G transducer comes with a Garmin 12-pin connector for integration with compatible marine electronics.

What is the purpose of the 0-degree tilted element?

The 0-degree tilted element is fixed within the transducer housing to correct for the hull's deadrise. This ensures the transducer's beam is oriented directly downwards, maximizing echo returns and providing more accurate depth readings, especially when installed almost flush to the hull.
