The 4' Glomex AIS Antenna is designed for boat owners who need reliable navigation assistance. Utilizing the Automatic Identification System (AIS), this antenna operates on dedicated VHF channels (161.975 and 162.025 MHz) to provide real-time maritime traffic information, enhancing safety during navigation in challenging weather conditions, including fog.
Constructed from high-quality fiberglass, this rugged and lightweight antenna is resistant to corrosion and stress, ensuring durability in various marine environments. With a gain of 3dB, it is suitable for masthead installations for optimal transmission performance or for mounting on motorboats using different available supports.
The bottom features a 5/8” x 24 threaded ferrule compatible with optional brackets and mounts. It comes equipped with Glomex's low-loss RG8X coaxial cable, available in various lengths, and includes a professional miniaturized FME connector for easy installation. Additionally, a 1.2m (4’) rugged extension can be added to enhance the antenna’s performance, allowing for easy installation on compatible mounts.
