PP4500 PowerPod for Humminbird HELIX 7
The PP4500 Series PowerPods offer a superior alternative to traditional bracket mounting. These PowerPods deliver a sleek, flush-mounted appearance while including the benefit of a swivel base.
The included trunion bracket provided with marine electronics often falls short. PowerPods effectively shield the back of the electronics from the damaging effects of saltwater spray. While most manufacturers successfully protect the display face with sealed rubber buttons, the back is usually not waterproof. They anticipate that users will flush mount them into a console or a NavPod. Additionally, PowerPods offer protection for plastic connectors and wires against degradation from long-term UV exposure.
PowerPods for Sail are perfect for flat surface installations, ideal for placement under the dodger or at the cockpit table's aft end, especially on vessels with dual wheels.
Hi-Gloss Material
- NavPods are crafted from a custom co-extruded acrylic capped ABS material for optimal UV resistance and a matching high gloss white finish akin to gel-coated fiberglass. The Gen3 enhancements utilize a thicker gauge material for increased strength and structural rigidity.
Waterproof Seal
- Each NavPod is built with a double gasket system that establishes a watertight seal between the front and back, safeguarding marine electronics from harsh offshore conditions. The Gen3 models feature a thicker external silicone gasket for a better flush fit, while the interior EPDM gasket has been increased by 50%, preventing 'compression set' which is a common issue in many rubber compounds. This durability is crucial for future servicing of your electronics.
Nichrome Plated Screws
- All NavPods come with stainless steel mounting hardware. The included large round head tamperproof screws have deeper sockets for the provided NavPod wrench, enhancing holding capacity during tightening. The Gen3 iteration sees nickel chrome-plated stainless steel tamperproof screws for security with a touch of elegance.
Manufacturing Process
- Heavy-gauge thermoforming is treated as an art, beginning with tooling design and development. Our skilled in-house engineers use advanced CAD programs such as Solidworks and AutoCad, while Surfcam interfaces with CNC machining to ensure precision in quality tool production.
Commitment to Quality
- With two decades of experience, we are dedicated to delivering the best waterproof housing for marine electronics. Confident in our craftsmanship, we now provide a 10-year warranty on all new Gen3 NavPods for your peace of mind.
