R&D Marine Engine Mount - 4" Footprint, 5/8" Stud
The R&D Marine Engine Mounts are engineered to withstand the demands of marine environments. These mounts effectively absorb both forward and reverse propeller thrust while isolating drivetrain vibrations from the hull.
To enhance durability, all steel components are zinc plated and passivated to minimize corrosion. Additionally, the rubber parts are shielded from oil-based products to protect their integrity.
Each mount is preloaded based on the total combined weight of the engine and transmission to restrict engine movement. Installation is made easier with height-adjustable mounts and slotted mounting holes for precise drivetrain alignment.
Selection Guidelines:
1. Calculate the total engine and transmission weight.
2. Determine 60% of the total weight and divide by 2 for the capacity of each rear mount.
3. Determine 40% of the total weight and divide by 2 for the capacity of each front mount.
4. Choose the correct stud diameter and footprint for the mount.
5. Select the mount with the closest capacity to the average weight per mount within the range.
Example:
For an engine weight of 480lbs and transmission weight of 110lbs, the calculation would yield:
Total weight = 590lbs
Rear mount capacity = 177 lbs
Front mount capacity = 118 lbs
