Being a natural salesman, Tony was convinced the real estate market offered a wide array of opportunities. So, he became involved in real estate while in his early 20’s. In 1957, Tony met prominent real estate broker Bill Kronas and began selling houses on behalf of the brokerage. The late Mr. Kronas became a mentor to Tony, schooling him in the ways of real estate sales. The two developed a father-son type of relationship built on mutual admiration and respect. Within just a few months, the enthusiastic young Tony was one of the Metropolitan Hamilton Real Estate Board’s top producers. In 1962, Tony bought a dilapidated house on Chestnut Street by paying the City of Hamilton for taxes owed on the land. He then co-built his first house. It was the start of a developer role he would expand over the years by building and selling thousands of houses in the Hamilton area, Burlington, Grimsby and Brantford.
