The STARTECH I13P-SERIAL-ETHERNET adapter provides a solution for integrating RS232 serial devices into an IP-based network infrastructure. This unit is designed for IT professionals and businesses needing to manage or access legacy serial equipment remotely. It enables the connection and control of devices such as POS systems, remote sensors, CNC controllers, or industrial scales over an Ethernet network. Powered via 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE), it simplifies deployment by eliminating the need for a separate power supply. The adapter features one RJ45 10/100Mbps Ethernet port and one DB9 port supporting up to 921.6Kbps. It functions as a serial device server, supporting Telnet, TCP server, TCP Client, and UDP communication protocols. Management is facilitated through Windows-based software for virtual COM ports and device administration, alongside a web UI. Its metal housing offers ESD level 4 protection, and it can be wall or DIN rail mounted, making it suitable for various industrial or office environments.
