The PSS Shaft Seal utilizes a mechanical face seal created between the stainless steel rotor and the stationary carbon flange. This design allows for adjustment and compensation for thrust from the propeller, ensuring optimal performance while minimizing wear.
Maintenance Reminder: Regular inspections of the PSS bellows are essential for reliable performance. It is recommended to replace the bellows every six years and inspect O-rings and set screws during this process, especially in environments with chemical exposure that may accelerate deterioration.
