The R&D Flexible Shaft Coupling is expertly designed for use with 4" B/W Hurth systems, capable of handling engine power up to 5HP at a speed of 100RPM. Constructed from a durable and resilient polyurethane, this coupling efficiently absorbs vibrations and accommodates temporary misalignments between the engine and the drivetrain.
This innovative design includes a flexible disc that allows for free movement while maintaining a fail-safe mechanism through robust metal compression straps. These straps ensure functionality in both forward and reverse thrust, making it a reliable component for any marine drivetrain setup.
Additionally, the coupling is engineered to protect against damage caused by vibration and shock loads, extending the lifespan of drivetrain components. If any shock loads exceed the coupling’s limits, the sacrifice feature of the polyurethane disc minimizes repair costs while keeping the drive functional.
