The Furuno FA170 is a compact 4.3" color LCD display designed to enhance navigation safety by providing essential information on AIS-equipped vessels, coastal stations, and navigational aids within VHF range. This device facilitates AIS data integration with various navigation equipment, including ECDIS and radar, for improved collision avoidance. Equipped with 6 in/out ports, 3 input-only ports, a LAN port, and one alarm output, the FA170 is BAM (Bridge Alert Management) ready, ensuring compliance with IMO MSC.302 (87).

This high-performance unit can store up to 2,048 AIS targets and AIS SARTs. Target selection displays detailed information through a user-friendly pop-up window, allowing users to create AIS messages or send name requests. In case of detected dangerous targets, the FA170 generates a dangerous target list and supports the exchange of safety-related messages with specified MMSI or all AIS-equipped vessels via VHF, with the capability to store 20 transmitted and 20 received messages.
