The Gefen Audio over IP Receiver Unit is designed for high-performance, scalable, and secure audio distribution through a standard Gigabit Local Area Network. This receiver works in conjunction with the Gefen Audio over IP Sender to provide exceptional audio performance for various applications including background music and public announcements.
With options for L/R Analog, Coaxial Digital, and Optical Digital audio inputs and outputs, it supports 2-channel PCM and up to 5.1 channels of Bitstream audio through digital interfaces. The unit facilitates independent routing of RS-232 and 2-way IR signals, enhancing the control of sources and amplifiers.
Utilizing Power-over-Ethernet, the receiver can be powered via a compatible PoE-enabled network switch, eliminating the need for external power sources. When paired with the EXT-CU-LAN Matrix Controller, configuration becomes quick and efficient, thanks to the Mass-Firmware-Update feature ensuring that all devices stay up-to-date simultaneously.
The receiver supports daisy-chaining with a built-in 2-port Gigabit switch, which allows connection of multiple receivers or other IP-enabled devices, making it ideal for extensive installations in large venues. The low-profile design allows for versatile mounting options, including rack-mounting with the optional Gefen EXT-RACK-1U-GRY tray.
