This system includes a driveway alarm kit specifically designed to detect vehicles. The transmitter operates on four CR123A batteries (included) and features 50 feet of direct burial wire connecting the probe to the exterior case. The probe is installed parallel to the driveway and can detect vehicles passing by within approximately 10-12 feet.
The direct burial cable can be routed to a nearby tree or post, where the transmitter box is housed. When a vehicle drives by, the transmitter sends a signal to the DCR-2500 receiver, functioning effectively from distances up to a mile. This vehicle detection system is particularly useful in areas where wildlife, such as deer, may trigger false alarms with typical motion detection systems. Additionally, since the probe is buried underground, it remains discreet compared to other wireless systems.
The transmitter is also weatherproof, making it suitable for outdoor installations.
