Featuring a built-in +20dB gain booster, the SMX-15 enhances audio clarity while minimizing unwanted noise from the surrounding environment. For dynamic recording situations, it includes a -10dB pad to prevent distortion in loud settings.
The microphone offers a frequency response from 40Hz to 20kHz, ensuring rich, full sound reproduction. With a low-cut filter switch, it effectively reduces lower frequencies below 120Hz to eliminate unwanted background noise.
The SMX-15 operates on two AA batteries, providing up to 24 hours of use without sacrificing sound quality. An LED battery indicator alerts users when it's time for a change, while the unique 'Auto' power setting allows the microphone to turn on and off automatically with the camera.
