The Total Access 608 SHDSL is a robust network interface designed specifically for VoDSL applications. It supports a variety of fixed FXS port configurations, offering options of 4, 8, 12, 16, or 24 ports. The unit incorporates Echo Cancellation (G.168) and ADPCM (G.726) compression resources for superior audio quality.
Connectivity is facilitated through a 50-pin female Amphenol connector meant for Carrier Class analog POTS interfaces. The integral IP router operates via 10/100BaseT Ethernet, offering features such as DHCP support, NAT/PAT, packet filtering, and RIP V1/V2. The device also includes a Layer 2 PPP and Frame Relay interface with a V.35 synchronous DTE connection.
With assured dial tone and lifeline POTS functionality, the Total Access 608 is built to last within a durable metal casing. It comes with a generous 10-year warranty and is AC powered. An optional battery backup is available either separately or as a bundled feature with the base unit.
