The OPTI-6100 Ethernet Module facilitates high-bandwidth mapping and demapping of Ethernet signals with support for up to 1.2 Gbps bandwidth (STS1-24v rate). This module includes provisionable alarms and offers features such as LCAS support and VCG support for up to 191 connections.
It complies with IEEE standards 802.3, 802.3x, 802.3z, 802.3ac, and 802.3u, enabling robust networking capabilities. The backplane supports multiple rates including 155 Mbps, 622 Mbps, and 1.2 Gbps and allows cross-connects for VT1.5, STS-1, STS-3c, and STS-12c.
With advanced VCAT support accommodating up to 672 VT1.5, 24 STS-1, or 8 STS-3c connections, the device offers flexible segmentation. Non-VCAT support for STS-12c, STS-3c, STS-1, and VT1.5 is also available.
Additional features include optional GFP FCS (Frame Check Sequence) support, multiple VLAN modes, and Client Signal Fail support. Ethernet ports can be looped back through line and local/terminal modes.
Proper operation requires a high-capacity fan assembly appropriate to your chassis: the MX chassis uses the HFANM (P/N 1184537x1), the SMX chassis employs the SHFANM (P/N 1184550G2), and the LMX chassis always uses the LFANM (P/N 1184564G1). Centralized management is achievable via the System Controller Module (SCM P/N 1184500Lx).
